Buket was born and raised in Izmir, Turkey. Buket moved to New York City after she received a BA with High Honors in Philosophy from Bogazici University. She has an MFA in Acting from The Actors Studio Drama School in New York.
Buket's New York theatre credits include House of Karen (Signature Theatre), Bee (HB Playwrights Theatre & HB Studio), and The Book of Liz (3 Legged Dog). Buket has originated several roles including Jason Lasky's Last Exit Before You're Off The Grid at the Secret Theatre as Marquette.
Buket wrote and directed her first theatre play Habitat which made its Off-Off-Broadway debut in April 2017. Habitat was produced by 4th U Artivists which is a New York City-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to help end violence against women. 4th U began as a staunch supporter of Eve Ensler’s organization and continues to donate to V-Day and One Billion Rising.
In August 2018, Buket produced her first theatre play HAK in HB Studio in which she also had the pleasure of playing the lead character. After being staged in several cities in Europe and Turkey, HAK was performed in English for the first time in New York City and received good feedback from the audience.
Buket directed a new theatre work called Bize Ait Mi Ki? at Zorlu %100 Studio in June. Currently, she works as a resident director of a theatre play called Aşık Shakespeare at Zorlu Performing Arts Center.
